They can do their job well or badly. Sometimes this isn’t as big of a deal. Other times, however, this can really damage your web site. Here are some questions to ask when seeking an SEO consultant.

Does the professional SEO consultant know his or her business?

How long have they been doing this type of work?

Do the SEO writers write their own SEO articles?

Do the SEO writers know about article submission and directory submission and how to use SEO tools in order to maximize effectiveness?

Does the professional SEO specialist make pie in the sky promises, or are they very realistic and based on experience?

Do they know the top ways to get Google ranking?

Is the professional SEO consultant aware of the latest trends and knows just how to get clicks to your website by using Meta tag descriptions and top ranking?

Do they offer SEO services that are custom built to you and your needs?

Are their prices and services reasonable? What approaches and strategies do they employ to raise your search engine position? Does the company use doorway pages (the answer should be no)

Is the professional SEO specialist willing or not to work with your competitors? (This is a must know! This must be agreed to before you let them work for you. Have the guarantee in writing and make certain that it is legally binding for the professional SEO services that you are thinking about choosing.)

What are the SEO service provider’s track records? (Find out what search engines they have had success with and what keywords and phrases they have had the most results with. Also, find out if they have good results over an entire site.)

When dealing with a professional SEO specialist, you need to make sure that they have done the work they say they have done. Ask your consultants if they can show you a report that shows rankings through many search engines for six months. Make sure the report that is shown to you is in a format that you can easily understand. SEO services are not cheap, so finances will have to figure into the equation. Most professional SEO consultants will also happily give you references and will answer any precise and specific questions. Finally, you will need to find out whether or not the professional SEO specialist’s work results/end in a higher rate of return.

These are just some general guidelines to go by when looking for a professional SEO specialist. If you get all of your questions answered, references checked and reports verified, then you are well on the way to hiring a true winner. By choosing the right consultants, you will not only be assured of a better return, but also you will be dealing with someone that is ethical and willing to do business just for you, not your competitors. One last thing to keep in mind is just because you have a higher page rank or are on Page #1 on Google does not mean you will get conversions… that has to do with online marketing and social networking not SEO. Choosing the right company can be a little bit of a hassle, but it is well worth it.

As news spreads about Google updates and the subsequent changes in the ranking procedure, the immediate question that is causing the SEO community to narrow their eyes and furrow their brows is this: What is going to happen to professional SEO specialists? Does this spell the E-N-D? Is there any hope for SEO to continue? Should we dust off the resume and start looking for another job?

Well, don’t panic until you get all the information. Yes the low down does not look great…at first sight. But the whole picture has not been painted yet. The lines and colors are still a bit blurry, but some things are, in fact, clear. For starters, reports are saying that at the end of 2009, Google will cease to provide the rankings reports. You will not be able to check page rankings through Google, which means that you will no longer be able to track your conversions, ROI or traffic. This has all come about because Google just recently earned a patent for language personalization.

Practically speaking this means the end of search engine process as we know them, the possible end of clicks to your web site, and the end of SEO aided rankings, as the results will be more focused on the user as opposed to the web site.

Now, this is throwing some professional SEO specialists into a panic. And, honestly, it should. For all intents and purposes, this will cause most of the existent SEO services to be out of business at the end of ’09. The new personalization will mean the end of search engine rankings, which means the end of SEO as we know it, which means the ends of lots of jobs – not simply for consultants and specialists but for writers as well.

This is a major change for the SEO community, and how this will affect the future still remains to be seen. With as many professional SEO services as are currently out there, there will need to be a change in the way that optimization is done. The deadline is set: December 2009. Until that time, business can continue as usual…though this is not advised.

As times change, so will SEO practices and procedures. It is the nature of the beast. We do not work in a business with rules etched in stone for all time. There is no such job security that technology provides. That is to say, change is inevitable and all professional SEO specialists will have to follow in line. There will be services out there to render, in some capacity. In order to not fade into the history books like all things that become obsolete, you must remember that, while business changes, those who change with it have the most chance of success. So while the knell of doom haunts with its mellow and robust tones, the bell of hope rings sweetly also in the midnight air. There will be good that comes from this.

In the world of the Internet, you’ll find people who seriously overstate and seriously understate the importance of good SEO work. Professional SEO consultants will try to convince you that you’ll die an ugly Internet death without their services, while search engine administrators will try and say that SEO is worthless, evil, and will get you condemned to the nether regions of anonymity. It’s important to understand the motivations behind statements like these. Most professional SEO specialists, of course, want you to buy their services. On the other hand, search engine administrators are constantly trying to fight SEO meant to trick engines into providing worthless content.

SEO is important in its proper context and place. The real purpose of SEO should be to ensure that technical issues aren’t getting in the way of a great website. It’s a pity that the search engines haven’t come up with an artificial intelligence capable of reading and rating your page just the way a human would, but until that day solid SEO practices and stellar content will go hand in hand.

Many SEO specialists will scramble to redo their SEO every time search engine standards change. They’ll also charge their clients for such services. Solid SEO practices, on the other hand, don’t need to be redone every few months. These practices are also pretty basic, only require a little technical knowledge, and generally don’t cost a fortune. The importance of these basic SEO practices cannot be overstated enough for the Internet entrepreneur. The complicated schemes to trick search engines, on the other hand, will inevitably go the way of the dodo bird.

Recently, Live Search has updated their set of rules that includes:

1. The Live search recently asked sites owners to have their keywords mainly in domain as well as sub-domain names. According to some SEO consultants, this is very useful for site owners to get a high PR for their web sites. However, the only drawback is that spammers can misuse this tactic.

2. Live search says that small text content is strong enough to get good page rank. As this contradicts with Microsoft’s intention to offer related search results, many people believe that authoritative and relevant sites have lots of content. Hence, this remains to be assured whether this tactic will work better or not.

3. The spam filters of Microsoft are highly susceptible to high keyword densities of web content pages than any other search engines. Hence, MSN supposed that erring with care and adhering to low keyword density would provide better results for their search engine results.

4. Currently, Live search engine places more emphasis on the newsworthy relevance of web site content for rating those web sites. Hence, web site owners need to ensure themselves that their content is highly pertinent to their web site and that their web site in the top list.

5. Simple code applies for all search engines, but Live search seems to reply far better than any other search engines, if the web site code is well written with a clear structure.

6. Live search presently is not very perceptive with respect to the quality of inward links to a web site. This implies that there are numerous cases of web site ratings being improved by huge number of low quality inward links. In addition, this appears to favor for those spammy search results and hence, this rule may not continue for a long time.

Overview

As compared to Yahoo and Google, the Live search is slightly immature that means that people can expect more changes in the algorithm of Live in the years to come. Hence, there is no need to worry about the present changes in the algorithm of Live search. Instead, SEO specialists and SEO service providers state that it is wise to use common sense when it comes to search engine optimization

Well, most people often get confused when they read these terms. Web 3.0 and SEO are interrelated and to understand them in a better way, let us learn both these terms separately.

Web 3.0 or the semantic web is a web revolution. Here, the contents of web are in an easy expressive form. Software professionals and even SEO specialists can then interpret, understand as well as use these contents to find, share and integrate information easily and more conveniently than ever.

The features of web 3.0 include tagging, taxonomies, social networks. These features give better interactivity to individuals. Web 3.0 technologies are used in professional SEO services, interoperability, open technologies, open APTs, protocols, open software platforms, and mobile Internet.

The evolution of Web 3.0 has tremendously improved programmed database searches, thereby helping people to select different types of data such as picking vital information, relevant details or choosing vacation destinations.

Now, that you have some idea as what web 3.0 is, let us understand what SEO is.

Professionals such as SEO writers, SEO specialists, and professional SEO consultants are familiar with the working of search algorithms, mentality of Internet users, what such users look for. They create SEO rich web pages, web sites and SEO articles, so that people can easily locate those web sites.

Therefore, if you are an Internet marketer or have a blog to post and are planning to hire an SEO consultant, you need to choose the SEO services, which have enough experience and are efficient in WEB 3.0.

Be wary of doorway pages because some deceptive SEO specialists may mislead your content to some other sites. If this happens, then search engines will remove your site from their index. Since it is ultimately you hiring a company, you need to be sure to select a credible SEO company.

Thus, WEB 3.0 and SEO are very competitive endeavors, which require intense concentration and a thorough in-depth understanding of web features, search engine algorithms and mechanisms. The revolution is coming!

This article has a lot of great information including related links to what happened. I was particularly fascinated by Matt Cutts discussion boards. Google is frequently updating and reviewing its algorithms to provide a sound-searching environment for individuals. The most recent updates include Jagger update, big daddy, and Florida update.

Google started updating its algorithm since 2003. Several pages, which were topping suddenly, disappeared. The first recent algorithm is Florida. Here, Google placed filter using its teams of SEO professionals and SEO specialists to locate sites that did more SEO work than normal levels.

Another theory is that Google bought this Florida algorithm to make the ranking page more healthy and foolproof. Some say that, Google employs a certain system, which considers few web sites that have quality links and uses those links. If such links are efficient and work best, then Google places such web sites at the top page.

The next Google algorithm update was Austin. It bought lot of speculations and expectations because people thought it might repair the damage caused by Florida. Austin update was a combination of PR algorithm and Hilltop. SEO writers and professional SEO consultants stated that this new update is more reliable and helps to get rid of web sites, which send spam mails and indulge in other immoral practices. Thus, web sites having superior content topped the list.

Jagger is another recently updated algorithm. Its focus is to improve all the current algorithms. Jagger gave more importance to inbound links and reciprocal links. It fiercely came down on blog spam, immoral sites and sites that auto linked to other irrelevant sites.

Big Daddy Changing the Calculations
The most recent Google algorithm update is Big Daddy, which evaluated web content in a much better way as compared to Jagger. It changed the indexing of web sites, enrolled only the trustworthy sites that linked to relevant sites and did not entertain off topic web links.

This change gave a more defined, comprehensive and relevant search. It also managed to tackle the problems of redirecting web sites. Google gave instructions to SEO specialists and professional SEO consultants to use 301-redirect, through which it informs users if any web site has been moved. The use of 301 and 302 redirects helped Google to attain the consistency level and keep its commitment for better search results.

Big Daddy also solved the problem of canonicalization that occurred when search engine recognized a single web site having two separate domains as two different web sites. Therefore, the issue of duplicate web sites no longer exists.

If you think of submitting your web site to directories for better exposure to masses, then you need to weigh various advantages and disadvantages of directory submissions for your respective web site. Below are some pros and cons of directory submissions.

One major advantage of directory submission is that it is an easy and rapid way to create link dispersion on search engines without needing to spend too much. Other advantages of directory submissions are:

1. For Permanent Listings: Many SEO specialists and professional SEO consultants consider that older links are of huge importance to search engines and they supplement not only the ranking value of your domain, but also amplify the resale price.

2. Anchor Text: You need to select skilled SEO writers to write good SEO articles for your content to ensure that you rank top in search engines.

3.	Screenshots: Quality web site directories and SEO service providers offer automatic screenshots for your web site to help you provide referral visits to your web site.

4.	Deep Links: They are exceedingly helpful, if obtained from certain professional SEO services. Web sites with deep links are likely to perform much better than other web sites lacking them.

Disadvantages of Directory Submissions

Of the comparatively few disadvantages of directory submissions, one common disadvantage is that directory submissions are lingering and tiresome. Hence, do some additional work to optimize your web pages or content according to SEO editorial and SEO copy writing guidelines and then select the proper directories for submission.

As search engines adore web sites, which have appropriate inbound one-way links also known as backlinks, these web sites get special treatment during assortment. Hence, when you submit your web site to directories, it is vital for you to select the most appropriate category for your web site.

Next, avoid bulky submission services, as it is very difficult to check the quality of such directories. In addition, there is no assurance that your web site will rank among these services.

Remember that directory submissions are a long-term SEO strategy and not a link strategy. Hence, do not expect extreme inbound traffic from your directory submissions, but instead have patience.

There are several advantages of directory submissions but it is a time consuming task. However, software may help to quicken the process, but you still need to supervise the process.

Overall, there are more advantages than disadvantages to directory submissions, and your web site will hugely gain from a well-studied plan of submission.

As a do-it-yourself SEO content developer, I hope to give you useful information from my own experience about how you should and should not use SEO for your website. Whether you have an SEO team working with you or are doing this by yourself, here are some more tips on how to promote your website during your spare time.

1. Create search engine friendly pieces.

I have said over and over again that people want to read valuable information, not a barrage of useless nonsense. You need sites that search engines can read so people can find you. Do you know if your site is being crawled by search engines? Plug in your keywords to a search engine and see if your site appears. If it’s not there, you need to make your site search engine friendly.
Search engines will not read text embedded in your images. You have to use important keywords, hyperlinks in text, and use CSS as your “buttons” or image for your navigation link. This creates great anchor text that helps the search engine find you easier and faster. You also want to use some repetition (just don’t overdo it).

2. Choose keywords wisely.
The right keywords make your SEO effort much more remarkable. Don’t just use random words. People search online the same way they think, which means they are likely to use a sentence. (Think about that, isn’t that the way you search online?) For example, if someone is searching for a hummus recipe, they are likely to type something in a search engine like, “how to make hummus” or “where can I buy hummus home made.”
I’ve already shared with you several online keywords tools that are available. Programs like Wordtracker can help with keyword and phrase variation. Go to my SEO tools, bookmark them, and USE THE TOOLS.

3. Link to other businesses.
Business is all about relationships with your clients and other businesses. Do your homework, and find relevant sites that will link back to you. They’re out there. Just this past weekend I have found several sites where I added my link, and they reciprocated the link. Make sure the sites pertain to what you’re doing. Look for quality over quantity. You don’t want to turn off your readers with irrelevant information.

Here are some ways to get a link back to your site:
• Press releases with relevance to your website.
• Submission to good directories like Yahoo, Google, or (as Dave states) ALEXA.
• Ask previous clients to use your link as a potential link back. This is important if you want to move up the PageRank ladder because Google and other search engines look to see how many links to your site are available.
• Post comments and include links to forums, chat spaces, and logs that are relevant to what you’re doing.
• Write articles that pertain to your business.
• Become a member of a social media group. Join online neighborhoods like Facebook and YouTube.

Most of all, keep working at this. I know it can be frustrating, and you may not see immediate results. With some persistence, determination, and commitment, it will happen. I look forward to hearing from you.

Speaking of hearing from you, I’ve seen some of you comment about how helpful some of my articles have been. There are still a lot of you keeping quiet out there. Don’t be shy. I want to see a dialogue here to help everyone and would love to see you share helpful websites. We all learn together when we share our information.

For people, who love to write, advertising copywriting is an ultimate writing opportunity for them. This is because, every word of an SEO Ad Copywriter counts with assessable outcomes as actions.

Unluckily, it is simple to get pessimistic when starting out as a Copywriter let alone getting specialized in the SEO market. Here, viable objective is hardly ever present, but it is inherent with the art of writing.

To make a good person-to-person link is the most vital element of a good SEO Ad Copywriter. The field of advertising copywriting is a vocation, wherein you may be creative and work with creative colleagues.

Several advertising agencies lure creative Ad Copywriters, because this industry values creativity in all forms. This is a profession, wherein you need to be creative, on frequent demands.

Advertising industry is a demanding industry, as client specifications range from reasonable to pathetic advertising demands. Time limits are fixed and factual in this field. Therefore the Copywriter delivers original content on time, and/or discovers another project waiting to be accepted.

The skill of how finely you deliver the content in a hard situation is the variation between being a professional Ad Copywriter and average promotional copywriter.

Other Highlights of an SEO Advertising Copywriting Career

As an Ad Copywriter, you will tend to learn several things. If you rejoice in learning new techniques and if you are ready to incorporate and modify details, then every assignment will be stimulating for you.

This does not mean that you will have to struggle for years to create a stable career as a copywriter with plenty of work experience. Undeniably, experience helps, but your career success as an SEO Copywriter hugely depends on how quickly you learn.

Advertising is a business, and many advertising agencies have usual 9 to 5 job timings. However, in this business, your authentic job provides the opportunity to work any time, but you will be required to be present on the most usual business days.

The salary is considerable, as the company pays you well for the work you create and your imagination. Next, the higher you reach in an Advertising agency firm, the higher will be your pay. Just like anything else within corporate America.

You may choose to become a Freelance SEO Ad Copywriter. Basically to work from home for various online advertising companies. As a freelance copywriter, it solely depends on you to decide for how much time, effort, and concentration you can provide in your home-based venture.

Next, as a freelancer, you will have to learn the technical aspects of advertising business such as web site traffic and lead generations, SEM, PPC, all sorts of fun stuff that Google and other search engines require. If you fail to get clients, that’s okay. It has taken me years to get where I am. I now have the luxury of picking and choosing my projects. Unfortunately I still have clients ridding my coat tails from way back in the day. I just cannot seem to get rid of them. Call me a soft heart, but they were my first clients. If I can only find a way to charge them more money since I am still charging them 2000 prices. But hey I am sharing the love once again.
