In social networks yes, but is it giving anyone ROI? It’s still arguable. The way I have been using Twitter it’s almost depressing sometimes. I try to follow new people only to find out they are spamming or really don’t care about what I have to say expect an added number on their follow list. For example I have asked a few people direct questions. I have yet to get a response. Yet,the majority of people are telling me to follow them. Humm I don’t know my small list of followers works out just fine for me. Thanks for keeping the conversation going Albert!

Hello Alison thanks for taking the time to keep the conversation going. I personally didn’t know better when I first started. I was guilty of spewing names, but always managed to add a few words. It hasn’t been until recently that I stopped recommending people unless I really had a connection. How does that add value? The way I see it, everyone is a potential client, friends, source for our business. They may not buy from us today, but down the line they will remember that we care. We took the time to go through our list and didn’t just make blind recommendations.

As far as I’m concerned, follow Friday is nothing but spam, and I generally unfollow anyone who just starts listing user names as fast as they can crap them. Spill that out into several messages, and watch Alison’s rage triple. There’s just absolutely zero value in the trend. I can see if you say “Hey world, I think you should follow X because of Y,” but that just never happens.

Obviously this gets me very riled up. But to me Twitter is about building and maintaining relationships, not crapping out massive lists of people others should follow. I’ll be the judge of that, thanks.
